Diani is Kenya's most polished beach destination: a long, gently curving strip of coral sand backed by casuarina and coconut palms, protected by a fringing reef that keeps the lagoon calm and swimmable at most tides.
The strip runs from Tiwi in the north to Galu and Kinondo in the south, with resorts, beach bars, kitesurf schools and dive centres spread along a single main road. Galu is quieter and better for families; central Diani is where the nightlife sits.
Beyond the beach, Diani gives access to the Kisite-Mpunguti marine park, Shimba Hills National Reserve and the sacred Kaya Kinondo forest, so a coast trip does not have to be purely horizontal.
Highlights
